Mark P. Tjan : Hidoshi

I'm a Canadian-born resident of Toronto and I've been roleplaying since 1992. I began my online preoccupation with the hobby in 1996-97 when I first visited the Geocities chat. The Anime Capsule was the place to be around that time if you wanted to roleplay, and while it wasn't exactly the most mature or developed place, things were starting to take shape. Hidoshi Nobunaga was my primary character from that time forward, and he's changed quite a bit since his initial conception in '92. I still love him, and I want to continue refining who he is.

I created Solest in 2002 originally because I was tired of the disharmony between roleplayers. No one could decide what the established setting was going to be anymore, and we'd wind up with a half dozen players who based everything on Earth history, and then a dozen more from say, Dragonball Z. It was really sad, and I felt we needed something substantial to work with. That's when Solest was born, and it's been developing ever since.

Position: Founder, Maintainer
Website: Room with a View
Best Advice: Listen to others and gather advice, then decide if it's right or wrong. Don't act like a jerk just because you disagree with someone.
Major Complaints: People who act high and mighty to newcomers because they've been around for a long time. Time and actual maturity are two different things.
Inspirations: Sakura Wars; Twelve Kingdoms; Lord of the Rings; Video Girl Ai; Rurouni Kenshin.

Joshua S. : Azimuth

To begin on a personal note: I’ll just say I was born in the U.S.A. and I’ve lived in Georgia my whole life. I first began roleplaying around the age of 17 and have had my share of experience in Good and Bad RP’s.  Being 24 now I have devoted myself to forum style roleplays now….mainly because they are ideal and convenient to working in large-scale stories while adhereing to life’s schedule.

I joined Mark on his endeavors in Solest around June of 2003. Beginning with the Tirade war this is where I created my flagship character “Azimuth Cross”. This character is a compilation of many personalities I have thought that a tragic heroic type should have and be restricted to. Hopefully I can continue to keep using the character in many more Solest stories in the future.
Position: Lore Database Contributor
Website: Workin' on it
Best Advice: Originality is the key, but not some much it just reeks of obscurity. God-modding just plain sucks so try and steer clear of that mentality. Just try and stay within the means of the world and all will be well.
Major Complaints: People who join roleplays then leave them in a matter of days.
Inspirations: Boogiepop Phantom, Bastard!, Xenogears (RPG), Final Fantasy VI (RPG), Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Various religios texts and mythology (Norse, Greek, Roman, Kabbalistic and Judaic)
