Synopsis:
Motoko is the youngest Oyabun (boss) of the Nobunaga family's extensive branches. Like her uncle Hidoshi, Motoko is righteous-minded, ferocious in battle, and a competant swordswoman whose talents belie her years. Her tenacity in battle has earned her the respect of elders, peers, and subordinates. The rank of Oyabun appointed to her shortly after she succeeded in completing the Ikijigoku (Hell on Earth) martial examinations. She is the youngest person in Yagyu to have ever attempted the test.

As Oyabun of the Taiyogumi (Solar Group), a group formed to eradicate rebels and troublemakers, Motoko's responsibilities have grown exponentially. She regularly travels from town to town with her cadré close behind, keeping the peace and acting as a wandering sherrif. Many of the daimyo (lords) under Setsuzoku's banner fear Motoko and her fellow Oyabuns, for should a lord be found lacking in nobility, such sherrifs are given the right to perform executions. For this reason, she is also considered a "Metsuke" or "Censor".

As far as her personality is concerned, she is not sinister like a Metsuke and has a personal code of ethics departed from those of the court. She is known for being kind to her soldiers and rather motherly when they are injured. Unlike most of her peers, she does not treat men as lesser individuals, and for that has earned the reputation of being both a radical and open-minded. If it were not for her reputation in battle however, these qualities would have quickly seen an end to her career.
